After an accident thrusts Emily and Nix into close quarters, they both feel an instant connection to each other that they have trouble denying. Instead of trying to deny that attraction they agree to a no strings relationship, even though this relationship is out of character for both of them.
Nix has issues to sort out after his two tours in Iraq and refuses to let anyone but his family get close to him. Let's be honest, he's the jerk you can't help but love. He hides behind a surly exterior, but it's his defense mechanism. Emily, a college student is changing her life to be less shallow and to experience life to it's fullest. She just got out from under the controlling nature of her mother, and she's happy to have new experiences, but she isn't sure what she wants. And quite honestly what college student does? Can these two people work together and overcome their pasts to have a future together?This book has several steamy sex scenes, but it's also about a relationship between two people. I enjoy seeing characters from Off Sides, but I'm glad that Emily got her own book so we could see her truly mature. Off Limits can be read on it's own but you will get more out of it if you have read the first book in the series.
Ms. Bennett's writing is superb. While there were a couple of awkward sentences, they didn't detract from the story. I have to say I do like the way Ms. Bennett used punctuation in this book to emphasize the characters' thoughts. Ms. Bennett did it again and pulled off another 5 star book. I just couldn't put it down and am looking forward to reading the next story in the Off Series.
