Book Version vs. Movie Version

Are you the type of person who reads the book then watches the movie?  Or do you watch the movie then get inspired to read the book?  Or if you see the movie version does it spoil the book for you?  When possible, I generally try to read the book then watch the movie version.  But there have been times when watching a movie version has inspired me to go and read the book, especially if it is part of a series (then I can learn what happens sooner).
